Seven Ways We Keep Georgetown Vehicles Running

From an overdue oil change to a tired transmission, each repair below has its own page explaining what we look at and how the work goes. Gasoline or diesel, domestic or imported, the routine starts with the same free check.

What the Free Once-Over Looks At

  • Brakes

Pad and rotor thickness at every wheel, caliper movement and the condition of the brake fluid.

  • Steering and suspension

Ball joints, tie rods, shocks and bushings checked for play, leaks and wear.

  • Tires

Tread depth, uneven wear patterns and pressures, which often reveal hidden suspension problems.

  • Fluids and leaks

Oil, coolant, transmission and brake fluid levels and condition, plus any drips underneath.

  • Belts and hoses

Cracking, glazing or soft spots that tend to fail on a cold morning or a long climb.

  • Battery and charging

A load test of the battery and a check that the alternator is keeping up.

  • Lights and wipers

Every exterior bulb and the wiper blades, the cheap items that matter most in a snowstorm.

  • Warning lights and road test

Any lamps on the dash noted and scanned, then a short drive to feel for noises and pulls.

Why Drivers Choose the Pros

Most people have had at least one repair visit that ended in confusion. Here is how we make sure yours does not, whether the job is a quick brake service or a major engine decision.

  • The list comes in order of importance

After the inspection you get findings ranked by what affects safety, what affects reliability and what is cosmetic. Plenty of drivers fix the first group, plan for the second and skip the third, and that is a perfectly good outcome.

  • Prices are agreed before tools come out

Each repair is quoted as a total that includes parts and labor, and it is agreed with you before anything is taken apart. Should a seized bolt or a hidden leak change the plan halfway, tools go down and the phone comes out before anything else happens.

  • Trained in school and at the dealer

The technician working on your vehicle trained at a technical school and through dealer programs. That mix of fundamentals and factory procedure is what lets a stubborn electrical or drivability problem get solved rather than guessed at.

  • Big repairs come with a second option

A failing engine or transmission is never quoted as one number. You see the cost to repair it, the cost of a replacement unit and, when it is relevant, an honest view of whether the vehicle is worth either.

How a Visit to the Pros Works

Four stops between the first call and driving home. Most routine visits are done the same day; bigger jobs come with a clear timeline before you approve them.

  1. Call and book

Describe the symptom or the service you are due for, and choose a drop-off time that suits your week.

  2. Free once-over

We go through brakes, suspension, tires, fluids, belts, lights and any warning lamps, and road test the vehicle if it is safe to drive.

  3. Your ranked list

You get a call with what we found, sorted by priority, with a total price for each item so you can choose.

  4. Repair and road test

Only the items you approve are done. The vehicle is driven again before pickup to make sure the original complaint is gone.

Covering Georgetown and the Clear Creek Corridor

Most of our customers live within a few exits of the shop, from the top of the valley at Silver Plume down to Idaho Springs. If you drive this stretch of I-70 every week, your brakes and cooling system are working harder than the owner's manual assumes, and the free inspection is built around exactly those wear points.

Coming from farther out, such as Lawson or the Guanella Pass area? Mention it when you call; if the trip is worth making for the repair you need, we will say so, and if a closer shop makes more sense, we will say that too.

Your Questions, Answered Straight

The things drivers most often ask the Pros before booking a visit.

Will an independent shop void my new-car warranty?

No. Federal law lets you have maintenance and repairs done wherever you choose, as long as the work follows the manufacturer's schedule and specifications. We use the correct fluids and parts and give you a dated record of every visit for your files.

How often does my engine need fresh oil?

Follow the interval in your owner's manual or the oil-life monitor, which for most modern engines falls between 5,000 and 10,000 miles. Towing, lots of short trips and steep mountain driving count as severe service, so plan on the shorter end.

My transmission is failing. Rebuild it or swap in another one?

A rebuild makes sense when the case and major hard parts are sound and the vehicle is worth keeping. A remanufactured or good used unit can be quicker and sometimes cheaper. Once we know what failed, we price both so you can compare.

Can I just drop the vehicle off without a set time?

Calling ahead is best, because it lets us plan the bay and order likely parts. If something comes up suddenly, call anyway and we will tell you the soonest we can look at it.

Do I get a price before the work begins?

Always. After the inspection or diagnosis you hear a total for each repair, and nothing is started until you approve it. If something unexpected turns up partway through, we stop and call you first.

What makes a car wander toward one lane line?

A pull usually comes from uneven tire pressure, a dragging brake caliper or a worn steering or suspension part. We check each of those on the lift and on a road test, then tell you which one is responsible.

Is there a charge to find out what's wrong?

The vehicle inspection is free. Deeper testing for an intermittent warning light or drivability fault can take longer, and if it involves a cost we tell you up front and you decide whether to go ahead.

If a repair fails later, am I covered?

Yes. The warranty on our repairs runs a full year or 12,000 miles. If something we fitted gives up in that period, we redo that repair at no further charge.

Meet the Shop Behind the Name

Auto Repair Pros Georgetown is a compact, independent shop that would rather show you a worn part than talk you into a new one. Inspections are free because a clear picture of your vehicle is the best place for any repair conversation to start.

We look after commuters, families and tradespeople, and their diesel trucks, with the same habit: check first, explain, then fix what you choose.

There is no upsell quota and no commission on parts. The only thing that matters at the end of a visit is whether you drove away with the right work done and a clear idea of what, if anything, is coming up next.
